Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Attorney Carlos Santisteban Jr. understands his clients’ challenges. Carlos is proud to serve the Miami community and works diligently to ensure that all those who seek his services receive the best legal representation possible.

Carlos started out in the law field when he received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from St. Thomas University. He stayed at St. Thomas University entering its School of Law program and graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree in 2009. 

During his first year of law school, Carlos was honored to serve as a judicial intern for a judge on the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County, gaining valuable court experience. In his second year, Carlos worked under a prominent criminal defense attorney in Coral Gables. During this time, he earned the position of a lead research assistant for a case that was later argued before the United States Supreme Court. 

In his third year of law school, Carlos interned in the legal department of the Dade County Police Benevolent Association (the “PBA”). This led to a position as Staff Counsel for the PBA after graduation. As a PBA attorney, Carlos represented Miami-Dade and Monroe County police officers in various matters:

• Department initiated investigations
• Arbitrations
• Collective bargaining
• Administrative disciplinary proceedings
• Labor contract negotiations

As Staff Counsel for the PBA, Carlos gained an in-depth understanding from two perspectives – the side of law enforcement and those who wind up facing criminal prosecution.
